Product Story The Lily & Tomato design is based on artwork by Flemish artist Joris Hoefnagel, who was commissioned by Emperor Rudolf II in the 1590s to illuminate Mira calligraphiae monumenta, a celebrated manuscript on the art of calligraphy.
Known as Martagon Lily and Tomato, the original artwork reflects a Renaissance fascination with the natural world, combining careful botanical observation with decorative page design.
