MD PRODUCT is a Japanese stationery brand centered on MD paper and the experience of writing. Its collection includes notebooks, planners, writing paper, covers and related tools with a quiet, minimalist design. It has rebranded itself in 2026 from MD Paper to MD Products to better represent its expanding assortment
MD PRODUCTS and MIDORI share the same Designphil family, but they are presented as separate brands. MD PRODUCT focuses on its specially made MD Paper and minimalist writing tools, while MIDORI offers a broader assortment of planners, illustrated stationery and accessories.
MD comes from MIDORI, reflecting the brandโs origins. Today, MD PAPER PRODUCTS has its own identity and is presented separately from the wider MIDORI stationery collection.
A5 offers a comfortable balance between writing space and portability. B6 Slim is narrower and easier to carry, while A6 and A7 work well for shorter notes. Larger formats provide more room for long-form writing, diagrams and drawing.
Choose lined pages for handwriting and longer entries, blank pages for sketching and open-ended writing, or grid and dot-grid pages when you want flexible guidance for notes, charts and page layouts.
A cover is optional. The notebook can be used as it is, but a fitted cover provides additional protection in a bag or during everyday use. Always select a cover made for the same notebook size.
Many writers specifically choose MD notebooks for use with fountain pens and other liquid-ink pens and report minimal bleed-through and feathering. Results can vary by nib, ink and writing style, so allow wetter inks time to dry and test unfamiliar combinations on a less visible area first.
