Paperblanks Hoefnagel Mira Botanica Journal Collection

Paperblanks Mira Botanical notebooks feature handsome cover designs based on the 16th century Flemish script illustrator Joris Hoefnagel (1542-1601). The cover images are taken from "The Mira calligraphiae monumenta" or Model Book of Calligarphy, which is considered one of the most important examples of European manuscript Illumination. Today this important book can be found in the Getty Museum Collection.  

The Joris Hoefnagel detailed illustrations capture the thirst for understanding our natural world, that was a hallmark of the renaissance.
